SPOTLIGHT

Ronesha D. Dennis is a software engineer, coding instructor, and author. She started coding when she was around 11 years old by creating a fan website for her favorite artist.

Ronesha learned about computer networking in high school. However, she decided to study journalism in college and worked in public health after graduating from Howard University. Later on, Ronesha switched to software engineering and coding instruction. She taught coding to children aged 5 to 9 in Virginia, worked with high schoolers in Washington, D.C., and led a summer Black Girls Code session in Chicago.

She also worked with college computer science students and grew from a Junior Engineer to a Lead Engineer at a consulting firm, where she managed development teams and junior engineers. Ronesha completed her Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from Boston University.

Recently, she published the Coding with Cornell series for young readers aged 3 to 8+ and Python, the Relatable Way for adults who want to learn coding.
